WALTON COURT is
an Irish Georgian country house built in 1776 on the site of a former castle
dating from 1645.
A beautiful and special place, steeped in more than two
centuries of history and intrigue; it was home to the colourful Walton family
for more than 200 years, followed by a tea planter from Ceylon, an eccentric
Church of Ireland minister, and two retired Scottish priests.
Years of neglect and hard times had seen the fabric and
grounds of the main house, courtyards and walled garden become derelict, until
the present owners, Paul and Janis Rafferty, started the mammoth task of restoration
and renovation in 1996.
Four self-catering cottages in the restored stable courtyard
and seven duplex apartments in our adjoining Oysterhaven Harbour courtyard
provide exclusive and characterful accommodation for up to 40 guests
with a spa pool, dining facilities and resident’s bar.
Situated on idyllic Oysterhaven Bay, six miles from Kinsale
and only 20 minutes from Cork International Airport, Walton Court provides the
perfect location for conferences, courses, product launches and private
receptions, or simply a relaxing retreat.
For private and corporate events, receptions and weddings we provide
a
complete event organisation and management service on an "exclusive venue" basis.
